Well, it was very brave of our contestants to meet a stranger in a blind date organised by
another stranger (hence us). All Sarah knew about Alex, was a short profile published in our
website. He knew even less and had to choose his date by the answers given to his questions.
We don’t know about them, but we were very nervous, as it was our first time too.
Thankfully, it turned out to be a jolly good occasion and we felt that they both
enjoyed the evening. We have nothing but praise for our first pair of happy adventurers
who set the first stepping-stone for many more dates and enjoyable evenings to come.
We also would like to thank Kobe Jones for the generosity with which they hosted the event,
and the professionalism of the restaurant’s staff that made all the difference to the evening.

With some trepidation I arrived at Kobe Jones on Saturday night to meet
my blind date. I shouldn't have worried as following our introduction the
conversation started to flow easily and we soon found out that we had a
fair bit in common. It was great to meet someone completely removed from my
circle of friends and work colleagues and whilst there was unfortunately
no chemistry we had a great laugh and even went for a salsa afterwards.
The restaurant was beautiful and the food amazing, we shared a selection of
starters, of which the No. 1 Special and Volcano rolls were the
highlights, and I have to say the dessert tray was delicious, especially the green
tea creme brulee. All in all it was a fantastic night out and I'd like to
thank Restaurant Blind Date for setting it up.

I had a great time at Kobe Jones courtesy of Whichtable.com and restaurantblinddate.com,
and of course Kobe Jones.
The night began as I waited anxiously for my blind date to show up, she showed up and she
looked very pretty which made me comfortable, now I could relax and enjoy the food at
Kobe Jones which I had heard so much about.
We had a few drinks, the photographer from whichtable.com took a few pictures and we moved
to our boot. This was my first stab at Japanese food and so I was a bit cautious with my
choices, however I did throw caution to the wind and went for the top starter the special
volcano Roll, and Green salad, my date who was a bit more daring than me tried the number
one special which looked amazingly beautiful, a work of art more than a dish of food.
We dived in, the food I must say was more delicious than I ever imagined Japanese food
could be, perfect 10 out of 10 even for me, who often have my food burnt to extinction
(not really).
We got along well and talked about almost everything imaginable, as it turned out, she was
quite interesting and well travelled, I was hooked on her travel stories from south America
and all the great projects she was working on. Had some more wine and talked some more. I felt
that we could become very good friends but nothing more and I think it was a mutual feeling.
Once the starter was over, we moved on to our main course, I went for the Grilled Chilean
Sea bass, and she went for one of the steaks. I tasted the fish, it was melting in my mouth,
smooth and juicy, perfect, again I would give it 10 out of 10. I guess we were too involved
with our dishes that I forgot to offer her some of mine and same goes for her who judging
from the look on her face was more than satisfied with her choice.
I had a glass of Chilean chardonnay and it made a great complement to the fish.
Once the main course was over, the fantastic staff of Kobe Jones offered us the Ama Ozen,
tray of desserts which was again wonderful, Belgian chocolate, cream brulay, cheese cake
etc to die for.
The conversation moved on with the desserts, we each took turns to taste each individual
delight, I began with chop sticks made with Belgian Chocolate, melting in my mouth, then
the cheese cake and so on. I tried all, I never eat so much, but that night I could not
get away from the food, it was wonderful, I absolutely recommend Kobe Jones to anyone
who would like to be pampered with food.
We finished everything and head out for the exit doors, the staff were great and courteous,
we thanked them again for their hospitality and said good bye.
We thought it was a bit too early to go home, so we went for a bit of Salsa in the nearby
Bar Salsa ad that completed a good night.
